MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor James Ngigi was raised by christian parents and grew up attending the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. He was a member of his school’s Christian Union and served God as youth leader. He was later ordained as a church deacon and thereafter as an evangelist. He has also served with Global Mission, a partner mission of the U.S.A. National Capital Presbytery in Kenya before relocating to the U.S.A. in 2002.

Pastor Ngigi served at Umoja International Church, in Silver Spring Maryland and later joined Disciples Fellowship International Church (DFI) in Silver Spring Maryland. During this time, he enrolled in Indiana, Newburg Theological Seminary, where he graduated with a B.A. in Pastoral Leadership.

After Pastor Ngigi graduated from theological seminary he was ordained as Minister of the Gospel at DFI Church and served as an associate pastor. He was commissioned as senior pastor at DFI in 2013 and served until the end of 2020 when he founded the Upendo International Church.
Pastor James Ngigi is married to Shelmith Kiarie and together have been blessed with four beautiful children, Nathan, Ethan, Jasmine and Matthew.
